How to play Salt Pans
In Salt Pans, every number belongs to a rectangle. Its value counts every square in that rectangle, including the numbered square itself.
The rules
- Split the whole board into rectangles.
- Each rectangle holds just one number.
- The number says how many squares must be part of the rectangle you draw, counting the number's own square.
Where to start
A 1 can only occupy its own square, so its rectangle is already fixed. For larger numbers, look for rectangles of the indicated size that do not contain another number.
