Community rules

What these rules cover
People write very little in Diverday: their name, the name of a group and the name of a party. These rules say what you can use, how to report what is not allowed and what we do next.
They are part of the terms of use.
Where names are seen
- In a group, by the people in it, who can be up to 200.
- In a party, by the people playing in it.
- In a one-to-one challenge, the person who receives it sees your name: "Ana challenges you".
- The name of a group or a party also appears on the invitation page, which anyone with the link can open, and in the link preview when the link is shared.
What you cannot use
Not in your name, and not in the name of a group or a party:
- Insults, threats or mockery aimed at anyone.
- Anything that attacks someone for their origin, religion, sex, sexual orientation, age, disability or anything like that.
- Anything sexual or violent.
- Someone else's details: their phone number, address or email.
- Pretending to be someone else, or to be Diverday.
- Advertising, web addresses, or names meant to mislead.
- Anything illegal.
Your first name, or a nickname that offends nobody, is always fine.
What you can do yourself
- Block someone. In a group, tap that person and choose Block. You stop seeing them in the leaderboards and in Who's in. Nobody else knows.
- Remove someone, if you run the group. They cannot ask to join again until you let them.
- Leave the group.
How to report something
From the app
You need your account and an internet connection.
- A person: in their group, tap them and choose Report.
- A group, if you run it: in Group settings, choose Report this group. If you do not run it, you do not have that button: write to us by email, as explained below.
You do not have to write anything: we receive who is reporting, which person or group, and in which group you saw it. The app confirms that it has arrived: "Thank you. We'll look at it within a day."
If you want to tell us why, or anything that helps us understand it, also write to [email protected] from your account's email address, and we read it together with your report.
Each person can send up to ten reports a day.
By email
For everything else —a group you do not run, a party, a one-to-one challenge, something you saw on an invitation page— or if you do not have the app, write to [email protected]. Tell us:
- What you saw and where: the name and, if you have it, the link.
- Why you think it breaks these rules or is illegal.
- Your name and your email address.
- That what you are telling us is true, as far as you know.
We reply to let you know it has reached us.
What happens next
Every report made from the app reaches the person who moderates by email, within a minute. A person reads it, and a person makes the decision: no program decides.
Nor is there any program that checks or filters names before they are seen. That is why it matters so much that you report what breaks these rules, and that you block anyone you do not want to see.
What we can decide:
If the report is about a person
- Remove the name. It is replaced with a neutral name, with a number added if someone in one of their groups already has it.
- Close the account. That account can no longer sign in. It leaves all its groups and parties: where it ran a group, whoever plays most takes over; a group left with nobody in it is closed; and its times in parties that are still open are deleted.
- Do nothing, if it does not break these rules.
If the report is about a group or a party
- Remove the name. The group or the party gets a neutral name instead. Whoever runs it can give it another name.
- Close it. It is the same closing that whoever runs the group can do: everyone in the group sees that it has been closed, and the person who created it can reopen it for 30 days. A party, instead, is ended.
- Do nothing, if it does not break these rules.
When we take a measure, we also treat as handled any other open reports about the same thing, and we tell the people who sent them what we decided too.
And if we see something that puts someone's life or safety at risk, we report it to the police, as the law requires.
Who we tell
- If you report something, the app confirms that the report has arrived. Once we have looked at it, we email your account's address to tell you what we decided —also if we decided to do nothing— and how you can ask us to review it. If you reported by email, we reply to that email.
- If you are reported and we take a measure, we email your account's address: what we did, which rule is broken and why, that a person made the decision, and how you can ask us to review it or go to the courts.
- If the measure is about a group or a party, we send that same email to whoever runs it. The other people in the group see that it has been closed or that its name has changed.
We do not tell the reported person who reported them.
If you disagree
Write to [email protected], from your account's email address if you have one. Tell us which decision it is and why you think we got it wrong. A person looks at it again and we reply within fifteen days at most, also if we keep the decision, and we tell you why.
What can be undone:
- A name you can change yourself in Account, as long as the new one follows these rules.
- A closed group can be reopened by the person who created it for 30 days.
- A closed account we reactivate if we see that we made a mistake.
You can also go to the courts.
How long we keep a report
A report is kept for as long as the account of the person who made it, the account of the person reported and the group all exist. If any of them is deleted, the report is deleted with it. Until then, it tells us whether the same thing had been reported before and what we decided then.
A closed account is not deleted on its own: it is kept so that nobody can sign in with it again, and in case the decision needs to be reviewed. If it is yours, you can ask us to delete it, like any other data about you.
Everything we keep, and for how long, is in the privacy policy.
